Recipe: Berry Oatmeal Shake with Whey Protein

What you eat right after exercise plays an important role in your body's recovery. Here's a recipe for a helpful shake!

On hard work-out days, the meal you eat immediately after exercise is the most important one of the day. The muscles are extraordinarily receptive to nutrients at this point in time - so take advantage of it!

The best way to end a hard workout at the gym is with a post-workout shake. A tasty shake not only contributes to your muscle health and growth, it can also be a nice reward! If you feel like you're choking down your fitness shake, it might be time to shake things up!

Carbs are key

A good post-workout shake contributes to recovery by containing all the important macronutrients. After training, quick-to-digest carbohydrates are of crucial importance. When you feel tired, your body needs carbohydrates to replenish the glycogen in your muscles and boost your insulin levels. Both promote the nutrient supply in the muscles.
