Recipe: Delicious Chocolate Waffles

Lots of people who want to stay fit try to cut sugar out of their diets. One has the feeling that sweets can negate the process you've made in your workouts. Just because you've given up traditional sweets doesn't mean that you have to completely go without your favourite flavours!

Enjoy delicious chocolate waffles made with eggs and applesauce for a balanced carbohydrate ration. The recipe is also made with tapioca flour, which makes it gluten-free. Enjoy these tasty waffles with a clear conscience!

Ingredients for Three Servings

  • 180 g applesauce (unsweetened)
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 scoops of PowerBar Deluxe Protein chocolate
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tsp tapioca flour
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt


  1. Preheat your waffle iron.
  2. Mix the eggs, applesauce, coconut oil and vanilla extract.
  3. Mix the tapioca flour, protein powder, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Now slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix well.
  5. Grease the waffle iron and add the dough.
  6. Leave the waffles in the waffle iron until they are crispy and repeat the process with the rest of the dough.
  7. Serve with Greek yogurt, fruit or whatever else you like...
  8. Enjoy!
