Find your way

The Edge isn't your every day computer. Offering challenges while you ride and online features to keep you motivated, the Edge 1000 offers:

• advanced bike-specific navigation and mapping capabilities.
• the preloaded Garmin Cycle Map includes OSM (Open Street Map) content with routable road and cycle paths, elevation data, points of interest and address search.
• Mapping data is stored onboard the Edge, so your access to navigation and performance capabilities isn’t dependent on mobile phone coverage, and map updates are free.

Know where you're going

Use the round-trip routing feature to discover more about your area. How does it work? Just enter in the distance you want to ride, and the Edge 1000 will show you up to three routes you can take that are cycling-friendly. You can even check the elevation of the routes before making a choice. Additionally, Garmin Connect allows you to download information to help you plan and create routes on your device. Use a map, POI and segments that you can download from the Garmin Connect page. Before you ride, you'll be able to view the elevation. If you decide to head back early, your Edge will recalculate your route for the most direct trip. If you get lost or tired, you'll be guided back to your starting point with step by step directions.
