The new eTrex 10 kept the main features, like the rugged design, the low price and the long battery life, through which the eTrex is one of the most reliable GPS devices. We have improved the user interface and added a worldwide Basemap, added the function for paperless Geocaching and changed the rear side of the housing for attaching accessories. The eTrex 10 supports GPX files for geocaching for downloading geocaches and other information directly to the device. Visit OpenCaching.com to start your Geocaching adventure. If you can do entirely without paper, you not only help the environment, but also your efficiency. With the eTrex 10 all important information, such as location, terrain and difficulty, as well as notes and descriptions are stored. No more manually entering of coordinates and paper print outs - they belong to the past. Simply download the GPX file to the device, and already you can go on the hunt for geocaches.

With the WAAS/EGNOS capable GPS receiver with high sensitivity HotFix ® satellite prediction, the eTrex 10 can accurately determine your position quickly and maintains its GPS location even in heavy cover and deep canyons. The advantages are obvious, because no matter whether you are in a deep woods or just near tall buildings and trees, you can count on the eTrex 10 to always find the right way.

Out in the world

The new eTrex series includes the first recipients for end users, that can track both GPS and GLONASS satellitessimultaneously. GLONASS is a system developed by the Russian Federation, which should be fully operational soon. The use of GLONASS satellites reduces the time that the receiver needs to capture a position, in comparison with GPS by 20 percent (on average). If both GPS and GLONASS are used, the receiver can capture 24 satellites more than only when using GPS.
