Description
Liquorice belongs to the legume family and can grow up to 150cm high. The plant has opposite, egg-shaped leaves and gets bluish-purple flowers in late summer. The thickened juice of the root is still used today to produce liquorice. For this purpose, the coveted roots are harvested in autumn.
