CLA 80 gold consists of conjugated safflower oil (safflower) and vitamin E. Each softgel capsule contains 1000mg CLA

Our body can not produce CLA. A good way to supplement this is to use CLA products from plant sources, such as from safflower oil.

To get enough CLA with a natural diet, you would have to eat 300 grams of butter for 1 g CLA. However, this diet would contain about 250 grams of fat, 2200 kcal and 720 mg of cholesterol.

Science and Studies:
In this study, young, healthy mice were administered CLA as a dietary supplement. Scientists wanted to analyze the effects of CLA on body weight and muscle growth after exercise and the turnover of cells associated with oxidative stress.

The mice were divided into three groups; a 6-week endurance training (on a treadmill) where the duration and speed of exercize was gradually increased. A second group completed the same training protocol, but was administered 0,425mgs CLA daily throughout the training period. The third group served as a control group that neither trained nor received CLA.

Results

• Compared to the control group, the mice in both training groups showed a significant reduction in body weight and an even increase in muscle mass.

In spite of the evidence on the pharmaceutical companies positive increase in muscle mass (hypertrophy) we advise endurance athletes and people who want to increase their skeletal muscle mass, not to take CLA supplementation since this would jeopardize the exercise-induced oxidative stress.

Info on CLA:
With a cooling influence, the CLA may become cloudy. At room temperature, it solidifies again. The quality is not affected.
